Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - Our new service which we are offering in 2012 is a cool, funky Stop Motion Movie of your wedding. This is a 3-5 minute MPEG movie comprising hundreds of images taken by us on your wedding day.

You’ll get access to the MPEG movie online, where you can share it with family and friends. You’ll also receive it on disk along with fully processed, high resolution, print-ready files of images from your wedding day.

Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - In October 2011, had the pleasure of photographing Gavin & Catherine's wedding at Grey Abbey followed by the reception at Scrabo Golf Club, Newtownards. We were lucky enough to be allowed to take photographs among the ruins of the twelfth century Cistercian Abbey church. This provided a fantastic backdrop, with the photographs working well with a Sepia tone in post-production. We then travelled to Scrabo Golf Club. Despite the weather preventing us from going up to Scrabo Tower we managed to get some fantastic images with the tower in the background. During the evening I set up a slide show so that guests could view the images from the day - this was a great success. I let the slide show run for 2 hours, giving all guests ample time to view it. Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - I recently photographed Noel and Claire's wedding at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel in Bangor, Co Down. The ceremony was held in The Blackwood Suite, the original late 19th century schoolhouse, which has an enchanting ambience. In addition to taking photographs in the walled gardens of the hotel, we also ventured to Crawfordsburn Country Park where I found a number of good locations with excellent lighting and captured some fantastic images. Despite the rain preventing us from going to beach, everyone enjoyed the day thoroughly. During the evening I set up a slide show so that guests could view the images from the day - this was a great success. I let the slide show run for 2 hours, giving all guests ample time to view it. Fashion Photography - Apple Core Photography - I recently had the opportunity to do a photoshoot at Love & Death Inc, Ann Street, Belfast. The make-up artist was Lyndsey McKernan, hair sytlist was Gillian Douglas-Rea, the model was Ash O'Brien.

The idea was to produce a nonchalance look, and a contrast between the fashionable dress and the quirky look to the background. We used various different lighting setups and poses to create a variety of different and interesting images. Please see below a few samples from the photoshoot....

Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - I was delighted to be asked by a friend to photograph her wedding in London in mid-June. The ceremony was held at the Houses of Parliament, a fantastic and unique setting. The Houses of Parliament has only recently opened its doors for wedding ceremonies, and I believe the number of weddings per year is still very limited. To book the venue requires sponsorshop by an MP, who is then expected to attend!

The ceremony was excellent, held in the Members' Dining Room, and lead by humanist celebrant Philiip Scott. Westminster Hall offered some great photo opportunities. The evening reception was held at the Garden Museum, a short walk across Lambeth bridge, which also provided some unique backdrops for photography. Please see below a few images from the day....

Wedding Photography - Dunadry Hotel, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland

Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - In mid-April, I was delighted to organise a bridal photoshoot at the Dunadry Hotel in Co Antrim. Bridal gowns were supplied by Pianta Bride in Ballynahinch, and Michelles Bridal in Omagh. Make-up artist was Lyndsey McKernan, hair stylist was Gillian Douglas-Rea. Models were Jenna and Leeanne.

The management of the Dunadry hotel were kind enough to allow us to shoot at various locations around the hotel. Lyndsey and Gillian did a fantastic job in getting Jenna and Leeanne ready for the photoshoot. Jenna and Leeanne fitted the bridal gowns perfectly and worked hard throughout the photoshoot to help achieve some great shots. Location Photography - Apple Core Photography - In mid-March, I had the opportunity to photograph Belfast-based model Debbie at Crawfordsburn Country Park, located on the southern shores of Belfast Lough. This was my first time to do a photoshoot at Crawordsburn Park and I found lots of interesting backdrops in both the wooded glens and along the excellent beaches. Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - I recently had the opportunity to photograph a fantastic new French design bridal gown from Pianta Bride in Ballynahinch. I approached the management of the Culloden Estate and Spa, located just outside of Holywood in north Down, who kindly agreed to me shooting at various locations around the hotel. Belfast-based model, Nicole, fitted the dress perfectly and worked hard throughout the photoshoot to help achieve some great shots. Fashion Photography - http://www.applecorephotography.co.uk/ - I recently had the opportunity to photograph Lurgan-based model Gillian Walker at twenty-twenty studio in Banbridge. Make-up and hair styling was by Emma McConville. We tried a variety of low-key lighting styles most of which I post produced as monochrome images. We then changed to a high key set up with very bright and vibrant make-up producing very punchy images with a bleached skin effect that gave a stark contrast to the previous low-key images. Fashion Photography - http://www.applecorephotography.co.uk/ - I was recently contacted by local model Tammy-Jo in order to take some images for her portfolio. We arranged a photoshoot at the Marine Court Hotel in Bangor for a weekend in October. On the day of the photoshoot we were lucky enough to be blessed with great weather and decided to make the most of it by taking a few images down by the Marina before heading into the bar area of the hotel for the main photoshoot. We finished off with a few swimwear images around the pool. Although this was Tammy-Jo's first time in front of the camera, you would never know - she was able to create some great poses and looks confident and relaxed in the images. Please judge for yourselves....

Fashion Photography - http://www.applecorephotography.co.uk/ - I had the opportunity to get back into the studio recently, producing photographs for local model Adam's portfolio. We went for a simple setup of black background with 1 or 2 studio lights (one light as a key light and the other as a backlight. We also used the backlight to produce a flare effect in some of the images). The final image used a single light placed high above Adam. Simple but effect lighting, producing some good images for the portfolio.

The following selection of photographs were taken during a trip to Wexford in late August. While I had my camera with me on the trip I wasn't expecting to take any portrait shots....but got talked into taking these images for a friend. All photos were taken using natural light as I had no flash or other supplimentray lighting with me. The high key (white background) images were taken indoors, in front of a window. The baby images used only window light. I also took the opportunity to capture some great images in nearby hay and corn fields, using the sun as flare in the background giving a nice, warm, summer evening look to the photos.

It's a fantastic place in which to photograph - unique and unusual gardens that have a Mediterranean feel, a wooded area, lake, and of course the magnificent house itself.
