Here at Apple Core Photography we are constantly experimenting and perfecting our studio lighting skills. This forms part of our ongoing photography skills development programme, which allows us to keep on top of the ever changing photography industry, and provide the best service possible to our clients. In order to challenge ourselves to the max, we recently organised a studio fashion shoot at 20twenty studios in Banbridge that involved three models and various lighting setups.
We collaborated, as usual, with our friend and make-up artist Ele Sayers, who also specialises in wedding make-up. Ele has also kindly agreed to supply any of our clients a discounted rate on her make-up packages.
Rebekah, Cydonia and Stacey, the models for the shoot, discovered via Folio32 and Model Mayhem, did a fantastic job and coped well with the hectic schedule of make-up and photography. Please see below a few selected images from the photoshoot.

Helen's Bay Fashion Shoot
Here at Apple Core Photography we feel it is vital to keep on developing our skills in order to consistently provide our clients with the best possible service.
One of the ways we do this is by challenging ourselves to complete fashion shoots where we can try out different things and maybe even experiment a little more than would be possible shooting a wedding. After getting a few shots indoors we decided to head outside and brave the weather at Helen's Bay, County Down.
We also wanted to use the shoot to collaborate with and showcase the skills of our friend and make-up artist Ele Sayers, who also specialises in wedding make-up. Ele has also kindly agreed to supply any of our clients a discounted rate on her make-up packages.
Rebekah, the model for the shoot, discovered via Folio32, did a fantastic job and coped with the winter weather admirably.
The conditions at Helen's Bay, County Down were wet and cold but that didn’t deter any off us from getting some good shots in the bag. As weddings can and do happen regardless of the weather it's always good to do practice shoots in all conditions.
We compiled a stop motion movie for this shoot which can be seen below. This is also a new service that we a providing to our clients as part of their wedding packages. We provide clients with a DVD with the movie on it and also put it online. It's a great way for people to share their memories of the day, as they can easily send a link, to the movie, to friends and family.

Wedding Photography - Grey Abbey, Ards Peninsula, Co Down
Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - In October 2011, had the pleasure of photographing Gavin & Catherine's wedding at Grey Abbey followed by the reception at Scrabo Golf Club, Newtownards. We were lucky enough to be allowed to take photographs among the ruins of the twelfth century Cistercian Abbey church. This provided a fantastic backdrop, with the photographs working well with a Sepia tone in post-production. We then travelled to Scrabo Golf Club. Despite the weather preventing us from going up to Scrabo Tower we managed to get some fantastic images with the tower in the background. During the evening I set up a slide show so that guests could view the images from the day - this was a great success. I let the slide show run for 2 hours, giving all guests ample time to view it. Please see below a few images from the day....

Wedding Photography - Clandeboye Lodge Hotel, Bangor, Co Down
Wedding Photography - Apple Core Photography - I recently photographed Noel and Claire's wedding at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel in Bangor, Co Down. The ceremony was held in The Blackwood Suite, the original late 19th century schoolhouse, which has an enchanting ambience. In addition to taking photographs in the walled gardens of the hotel, we also ventured to Crawfordsburn Country Park where I found a number of good locations with excellent lighting and captured some fantastic images. Despite the rain preventing us from going to beach, everyone enjoyed the day thoroughly.
